American Idol is a well known television program where singers compete with each other to win coveted title of American Idol. The show was conceptualized on the lines of Pop Idol from U.K. Even now American Idol is produced by U.K. producers Ken Warwick and Simon Fuller who have also produced Pop Idol. The first ever event of American Idol debuted on June 11, 2002 with its first season attracting a lot of eagerness around the country and trace television viewers. The show aims to find out the best young singing talent in the country through a countrywide search for the singers. The search is generally performed in six to seven cities every season. The candidates are filtered into few hundreds from thousands. The contestants are more filtered in Hollywood round and ultimately 24 contestants go to the semifinals of which 12 are males and 12 are females. The contestants are further condensed to 12 in the final round. From there on a singer is eliminated from bottom three contestants each week until the last event when only two singers remain from which the winner and the runner up are chosen.
Several youngsters dream about getting a break in American Idol and also try hard to get there. Some fail and some come out with flying colors. But we should understand there can be only one winner at the end of the day and everyone performing in the agenda cannot be an American Idol. Apart from the singing talent one also need to have the personality to win the contest. In addition to having a stunning voice you need to have the rhythm and command over special tunes. Knowing how to dance along with singing is also a massive advantage over others who can't dance. |

The first screenplay usually includes introduction to the story, characters, location and the time frame. Setup is an essential part as the audiences have knowledge about the movie or the presentation. It's superior to start with a picture rather than an unknown voice on a blank screen as that will be good to attract the audience into the story. The image can be of anyone, either that of the actor who plays the main role, or any place like his hometown, whatever conveys the subject or matter? Like in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, a snake is exposed crawling which later gets killed by Potter in order to save himself and the students. Initial with characters interaction is also a good idea as the audience focus on them for a while to choose whether they want to follow them or not and also keep them wondering about the plot of the story. But it's very essential that whatever is portrayed in the first few scenes or the first ten minutes should be directly connected to the story. If any inappropriate stuff is being displayed it will simply puzzle the audience and can also make them lose interest. After gaining audience's attention the next ten pages should give details about the unfolding of the story and at the same time holding the anticipation of the story. Most of the characters can be introduced, situations can be created, past events can be enacted and the villain can also be introduced but that isn't a must. To construct the suspense the villain can be pictured as a good guy but his actuality comes to light after a bad incident or when he is caught red handedly by another character. But this shouldn't take long to test the tolerance of the viewers. |

But irrespective of whatever everyone has to make preparation and take a correct approach to get a break in Showbiz. But remember success doesn't come suddenly; you have to work hard and even harder to make it large in the Show business. So the first lesson to learn is stay away from agents who assure you to make a big star overnight.
The first and primary thing to know before entering the Show Business is that you should examine yourself whether you have it in you to break into Show Business or not. Someone can teach you acting but cannot make you an actor unless you have it in you called the desire. Question yourself whether you will be able to face the challenges like different work surroundings, different style of living, new people, new places and many more that may come in your way and the strong competition ahead. A lot depends on how flexible and adjustable you are. If you have a firm personality then forget about getting a break as this industry demands you to work with people having unlike kinds of personalities and the opportunity of differences creeping in cannot be ruled out. |
